Chapter 70 - Strategy "No Strategy"
The two of them stood shoulder-to-shoulder.
“You aren’t scary?”
“I’m okay. Any strategies?”
“First, we run as fast as we can to the monster.”
“And then?”
“I will think about the rest after. Let’s go!”
“Doesn’t that mean you don’t have a strategy!?”
Airi started running, and Riku chased after her.
The gaze of the monster turned to them and it barked loudly.
The high volume was loud enough to shatter his eardrums, but even then, he continued to run.
Regardless of whether the zombies had been in the middle of eating behind them, they turned toward the monster, but Riku and Airi couldn’t know that.
The monster stuck its claws out.
“Ugh!”
Airi twisted her body and evaded.
Riku stepped sideways and dodged.

Airi turned her body in the air, and using the momentum, she took the iron pipe hanging on her waist and swung it.
However, the monster stepped back and dodged the blow.
“It avoided it!?”
“Airi, watch out!”
The monster jumped forwards with incredible force, closing the distance to Airi.
However, since Airi had swung the iron pipe as hard as she could have, she was wobbling.
She couldn’t take any action to avoid the next blow from the monster.
Airi put the iron pipe in front of her.
Although she didn’t know if it would work as a shield, but it was better than nothing.
To protect herself from the claws of the monster, she held it slightly diagonally across her body.
However, the monster was stronger than Airi had imagined and cleverer.
The monster stuck out its claws, but just before hitting Airi, it shifted the trajectory to slightly upwards.
Airi couldn’t react in time because of the monster’s speed.
At this rate, her face would be cut into pieces.
As Airi thought that, the trajectory of the monster’s claws shifted down with a jerk.
Riku had hit the side of the monster’s claws with his iron pipe.
Thanks to that, the claws hit the pipe instead.
“Ughh!!”
Despite the monster not hitting her with its claws, the killing force wasn’t deflected, and she tumbled backward.
“Airi!”
Riku headed in Airi’s direction, but right after that, the monster’s elbow hit him in his chest, and Riku flew back as well.
The monster stared at the two of them, fallen on the ground, its eyes squinting, and made a happy purring sound.
Since the tall one had taken a lot of damage, it was better to kill the shorter one first-
Thinking that, the monster headed for Airi.
“...Wai…t…”
However, the voice coming from behind made it stop.
“I won’t… let… you…”
Turning around, it saw the tall one standing.
Riku, that is.
The monster was overwhelmed by its stubbornness.
Since it was too troublesome, it would kill this one first-
The monster stuck its claws out and approached Riku.
“That’s right, that’s good…”
Mumbling that, Riku took a deep breath and shouted,
“Get up! Get up and run! Airi!”
Airi looked at Riku, her face distorted in pain.
“Riku… you…”
“Run, and live together with Misa! Hurry!”
“Don’t screw around with me… Are you telling us to abandon you…?”
“It doesn’t matter if you abandon me! Take Misa and hurry and run!”
“Although I might be a delinquent… I treasure my friends. I didn’t ignore it when my friends were attacked by a group I had no relation to… I took care of my infected friend until the end and killed them… I don’t run away… To run away…”
“Even then, you have to run. To survive.”
Although it seemed like it couldn’t understand the meaning of their words, it understood that they were having a cliched conversation.
In order to kill Riku with its claws, it swung largely.
Immediately following, its field of vision grew narrow.

The monster didn’t understand what had happened.

The tall fellow stood vacantly with his mouth open.
The short fellow slumped on the ground, glaring.

The upper body from an overturned car.
A hand reaching out.
A shiny black thing in it.
The moment it realized it, the monster’s field of vision grew dark.
