Chapter 83: Little Cutie 20
When Su Tang saw Chi Shuyan’s hesitant look, he felt his heart pound harder, as though he had guessed the sort of dream that the other party was talking about.
At first, he was still very shy. After all, for his own boyfriend to have a dream about himself, and an erotic one at that, it was impossible that he didn’t have any reaction to that. However, after the shyness passed, he felt that something was wrong.
He thought deep and hard and for a long time, before he finally raised his head and asked in an uncertain tone, “You just said that before you got to know me… You’d already dreamt of me?”
“Yes, that’s what I said.” Chi Shuyan nodded. He knew that this sounded unbelievable, and normal people would only treat it as a joke. It was only normal that they didn’t believe him.
Initially, he thought that Su Tang might begrudge him for lying to him, or scold him for being a rascal, but the other party didn’t do that. Instead, he asked him seriously, “Are you certain that the person was me?”
“It’s definitely you.” Chi Shuyan said resolutely. He saw the strangeness in Su Tang’s expression and added, “I’d started dreaming about you just after the age of ten. If we had really met by chance before, and it became a dream, then you should have been about the same age as I was. But the you that I dreamt of looked exactly like you do now.”
Su Tang was astounded. This sounded like a fabricated story that one would think was false, but he didn’t know why, he felt that what Chi Shuyan said was real.
It wasn’t that he blindly believed Chi Shuyan. Rather, there was another voice in his mind telling him that the other person wasn’t lying. That feeling was so strong that he was forced to believe it.
However, why would Chi Shiyan dream of himself, and even dream of himself at this age? That itself wasn’t logical, and was buggy, ridiculous and strange. Su Tang thought about it till his head hurt.
He asked Chi Shiyan a few more questions, and realised that not only did he appear in that kind of dreams, he had even appeared many times in ordinary dreams.
And so long as he had dreams relating to Su Tang, when he woke up the next morning and tried to recall them, he would find that his recollections about those dreams would be blurry. He could only vaguely remember them, but couldn’t pinpoint any details.
However, he wouldn’t be like that when it came to other dreams.
When Su Tang heard this, he felt that he might have transmigrated into a fake world. Otherwise, why would the male lead dream about him from young, and not the female lead?
As he thought about this, he couldn’t help but ask the system, “System, System, tell me the truth. This matter about Chi Shuyan dreaming. Is it because your processor is outdated, hence there was a bug in the plot?”
The system retorted, “How is that possible! No matter how capable I am, there’s no way I can change the plot.”
“Then, is it the case that the male lead in this world has some sort of superpower that allows him to predict the future, but it wasn’t recorded by you?” All sorts of ideas flowed into Su Tang’s mind, but the system expressed that it wasn’t possible.
“Then tell me, what’s going on?” Su Tang probed again.
“I also don’t know. Stop hounding me about it.” After the system said this, it fled in a jiffy.
In reality, it wasn’t that it didn’t know, but it didn’t dare to, and couldn’t tell him. After all, it was a system. It had its own rules too, and if it went against the rules, it would be punished. Su Tang would also be implicated, so when it heard Su Tang ask these questions, it had to pretend that it didn’t know anything.
Actually, it really didn’t know at the beginning. Even though it had discovered previously that the male lead in all the worlds was the same person, but due to the changes in the worlds, the male lead wouldn’t remember what happened previously. Hence, it had only wiped Su Tang’s memories, and thought that there wouldn’t be any accidents.
It was only just then that it finally realized that it had been too simple-minded.
The worlds that they were in had been developed in a chronological order. Even if there were changes in the process, these changes would certainly be logical. Even if there was a bug in the plot, the system would immediately notice and repair it.
Hence, the matter of predicting the future would never exist.
As the system thought of this, it knew that the dreams that Chi Shuyan had could possibly be the memories between Su Tang and him over the few lifetimes. However, due to the restrictions of reincarnation, he couldn’t remember them clearly.
This couldn’t be considered a bug. After all, these memories truly existed. The male lead had just recalled them. The system could repair the errors in the plot, but it couldn’t control the heart of the male lead. It was the same with Su Tang. Even if the other party had caused the plot to drift, but because the logic was still there, it could only quietly watch, but couldn’t step out to change it.
As for the matter of wiping memories, it wasn’t the one who did it after all. That was directly handled by its superior. The system was only responsible for taking care of Su Tang, feeding him with the plot and memories about the new worlds.
In the end, the fate between these two people probably couldn’t be broken for eternity. Even if Chi Shuyan didn’t have that dream, he would still be attracted to Su Tang, and they would fall in love and spend their lives together again. Then, the reincarnation would begin, and they would meet once more.
The system didn't want to care about the two of them anymore. Previously, it still carried a glimmer of hope, thinking that even if the male lead in every world was the same person, he might not fall in love with the same person every single time. It wasn’t wrong in thinking that, but it just wasn’t suitable when it came to these two people.
Even when the two didn’t remember each other at the beginning, they would still be attracted to each other. And now, one of them had regained a bit of his memories, so he wouldn’t simply let the other person go. The system mulled over it, then decided that it should just lay low and be a good person.
Since the system had slipped away, Su Tang couldn’t search for other answers as well. Chi Shuyan and him chatted for a while, and when he looked at his watch, he saw that it was already 11PM. If they didn’t go to sleep, they might be caught by the teacher in charge of the dorms.
“Will there be someone who will come to check if we’re asleep?’ Su Tang suddenly asked.
“Twice or thrice a week. There would be even stricter checks just before exams.” Chi Shuyan answered.
When Su Tang heard this, his mood immediately sunk. He enjoyed sleeping with Chi Shuyan. Even though the dorm was warm, the bed was very small, and the other person always bullied him, but he still liked it.
Yet, simply liking it wasn’t good. After all, this was the school. If the dorm teacher caught them, it would be even more serious than puppy love. Hence, he said, “Why don’t you go back first?”
“Are you trying to chase me away?’ Chi Shuyan knew what Su Tang meant, but he still wanted to tease him.
“No, but I’m scared of being caught by the teacher.” Su Tang had just finished explaining when he heard the voice of a conversation between the dorm teacher and other students.
Chi Shuyan didn’t have a choice too. He could only return to his bed and spend the night there. But before he left, he still couldn’t resist giving Su Tang a kiss on his cheek.
It was very light and very gentle, a light peck on the cheek, then he left immediately. He didn’t even linger for a moment, but both of them could already immerse themselves into this lingering feeling.
Su Tang seemed to be in a daze, and it was only when the teacher brought his flashlight and walked to their level and Chi Shuyan coughed a few times that he finally reacted.
The footsteps sounded closer, and finally stopped at their door. The person had his hand on the handle, but he didn’t open the door. At this moment, Su Tang was so scared that he almost screamed.
Because the both of them had locked the doors from the inside, and in their haste to return to their beds, they had actually forgotten to unlock the door.
The school never allowed students to lock themselves in. For one, it would inconvenience the teachers who were checking in on the students, and they were also worried that they couldn’t open the doors from outside during accidents, which might be dangerous, hence they had always checked that the doors weren’t locked from inside.
Su Tang was almost panicking, but Chi Shuyan motioned for him to remain silent. Su Tang nodded, then held his breath as he observed the situation.
The grip on the handle quickly stopped. The dorm teacher didn’t try to open the door. He simply took the flashlight and shone it across the area, then held his checklist as he continued upstairs.
After all, there were only a few naughty ones in this dorm, and they had all applied to live outside of school, leaving only the class monitor and a few students who looked obedient. The teacher thought that there shouldn’t be much problems with them, hence they managed to escape this calamity.
Once Su Tang confirmed that the teacher had left, he finally felt at ease. He lay limply on bed like a soft pudding, then released a long breath before he realised that he was so scared that he had wrapped himself in his blanket. Only his eyes were exposed, as he observed silently, but he didn’t feel warm at all.
Conversely, his hands and legs were so cold, as he had broken out in cold sweat from the fear.
“It’s all right now.” Chi Shuyan comforted him and added, “I’ll go unlock the door.”
“Why don’t… why don’t I go instead?” Su Tang was feeling bad about troubling Chi Shuyan. After all, the other person was sleeping in the upper bunk, so he would have to climb the ladder down, which was very inconvenient. He was sleeping in the lower bunk and was very close to the door, hence logically speaking, he should be the one who did it.
In the end, Chi Shuyan shook his head, and came down from the bed as he said, “It’s fine. I’ll come down and take a look at you at the same time.”
After he unlocked the door, he walked over to Su Tang’s bedside. When the other person saw his actions, he immediately moved and made space for him, while he stuck himself close to the wall.
“Why are you keeping yourself so far away from me?” Chi Shuyan felt that it was quite funny, as he sat down by the bed and caressed Su Tang’s head. He then said, “Are you still feeling scared?”
“Much better now…” Su Tang whispered.
“That’s good.” Chi Shuyan chuckled, then stood up, “It’s getting late. Let’s have a good night’s sleep.”
“Oh?” Su Tang was stumped, and he immediately blurted out, “Aren’t you sleeping here?”
“I’ll sleep up there.” After saying that, he looked at the space that Su Tang had left for him. Obviously it was enough for someone to lie there, so he finally realised what was happening.
“Oh….” Su Tang also realised that he might have misunderstood things, so he felt quite embarrassed. Just as he wanted to move back, Chi Shuyan laid down abruptly.
“What are you …” Before Su Tang could finish his words, Chi Shuyan had turned around and hugged him.
“My little cutie has invited me to sleep beside him. Of course I can’t reject him.” He smiled and added, ‘Goodnight, have a nice dream, a dream with me in it.”
“You wish.” Su Tang glared at him before smiling, “Goodnight, you can’t dream of others as well.”
You can only dream of me.
