Chapter 28 - Discussing the Conditions

The car exited downtown and stopped in front of a villa.
The main entrance was opened by someone, a middle aged person, who welcomed them in.
“Younger Master Gu has arrived? This is… this is Young Master Cheng, right? Very good, he looks very handsome.”
Gu Bokai said, “Uncle Zhang hasn't rested yet?”
“No, didn’t you say that within these two days Young Master Cheng would arrive? I kept wanting to meet Young Master Cheng. Young Master Cheng is handsome. No wonder Master Gu is so concerned over him.”
“It’s not like that. Uncle Zhang, don’t talk nonsense.”
Uncle Zhang laughed and said, “Did you eat yet? Should I prepare some food for you two?”

“Uncle Zhang has worked for our family for years. He has watched me grow up. Come, let’s go see our new house.”
“Our new house?”
Gu Bokai replied, “Didn’t I tell you already? We needed a new house. Originally I was going to let you decide. I sent you so many pictures. You simply didn’t give a sh*t. Forget it, I didn’t need you. I just directly bought it.” Gu Bokai, pleased with himself, continued to talk. “ The entire place was decorated to my liking. You just need to come in.”
Cheng Jinyu did not know what to say. Trying to speak in a language the other would understand, he said, “You don’t need to take the marriage seriously right!? Don’t tell me we have to live together?”
“Of course. What else would we do?”
Cheng Jinyu said, “There’s no need. It was just a fake wedding.”
Gu Bokai’s facial expression was very gloomy. “Out of the question!”
Cheng Jinyu replied, “Why on earth do I need to listen to you.”
Gu Bokai gloomily said, “Cheng Jinyu, I don’t know why you originally wanted to marry me, but let me tell you, if you want to divorce me, there’s no way!”
“No way? What are you trying to do if you don't want to divorce me? Could it be that you want to be a real married couple?”
“Why is it not possible?” Gu Bokai suddenly shouted out this question. Cheng Jinyu stared blankly.
Gu Bokai finished yelling this then instantly felt regret afterwards. He angrily yelled, “Cheng Jinyu, let me tell you, if I don’t divorce you, then you can’t leave this marriage.”
“Aren't you afraid that I’ll subdue you? I just want to see if I can subdue you or not. Don’t oppose me, I have ways to kill you.” He fiercely spoke.
Although Gu Bokai’s appearance was very fierce, Cheng Jinyu was still stuck on the phrase he just said. Although Cheng Jinyu had many daydreams, in the end he did not truly believe that Gu Bokai liked him.
These two originally were not part of the same world. In Cheng Jinyu’s eyes the disparity between him and Wei Hua was already big. It would be even bigger with Gu Bokai.
“Gu Bokai, I don’t care what your opinion is. I had never had the idea to genuinely marry you. What is between us is a business deal, I hope you won’t take it seriously.”
“Take it seriously? Me, serious towards you? Cheng Jinyu, can you stop imagining that your love is reciprocated from an uninterested party?” Gu Bokai said.
In the end it unexpectedly turned into Cheng Jinyu showing affection to an uninterested party. Without a better option Cheng Jinyu shook his head, “That’s right, it’s me showering affection on an uninterested party. I shouldn't think that you like me. A person like you, how could you like me?”
“As long as you understand. This young master willing to be under the same sky as you is already an honor. You should be grateful!”
“Ok, ok.” Cheng Jinyu continuosly responded.
Two people talking like this walked into the living room. The decorations inside were of a luxurious style, especially the chandelier. It was dazzling like a hundred diamonds.
Gu Bokai saw Cheng Jinyu paying attention to the interior decorations of the villa. He smiled and said, “How is it? My taste is good!”
“Very good.” Cheng Jinyu said.
“The second floor has four bedrooms. The two master bedrooms are yours and mine, you can choose first. There's also two small bedrooms for our study rooms. Downstairs, there are a few unoccupied rooms. You can use it for whatever you want. That's right, on the first floor I created a big space and turned it into a movie theatre room.”
“Also on top of the building is a small garden, you can plant whatever you like. The rear of the villa has a small garden with an outdoor swimming pool.”
As Gu Bokai continued to introduce all parts of the place, Cheng Jinyu felt like he was listening to the affairs of someone else’s house. This place wasn't his home, what’s more it has nothing to do with him.
Cheng Jinyu stood there and listened, simply letting this young master continue to introduce the house.
“Originally I wanted to let you decorate this place, but you just ended up disappearing. So I just went along with my interest and it didn't turn out that bad, don’t you think?”
Cheng Jinyu responded, “Yes, yes, very good.”
Gu Bokai continued, “Then hurry and move your things over. From now on just live here.”
“Live here? Just forget it! You…”
“If we don't live together how am I supposed to subdue you?” Gu Bokai interrupted Cheng Jinyu, “At that time why did you get married to me? Wasn’t it to see if I'll subdue you to death? You're always so far away from me, how am I supposed to subdue you?”
Cheng Jinyu didn’t know whether he should laugh or cry. “Then I should just move so you can subdue me? In the end how much do you think I want to die!”
Gu Bokai replied, “Isn’t this your original purpose in getting married to me?”
Cheng Jinyu thought to himself. He got married because of the money. Currently he had the money, he no longer cared about anything else.
“It was because I had a certain goal that I married you, but my goal has already been achieved, so I no longer need to continue with this play. If you don't want to divorce me, then let's just continue to be married. In any case I don’t care. It's only living together, it’s totally not required.”

“What are you doing? Is it necessary to do this?” Cheng Jinyu asked. If Gu Bokai’s marriage got to the media, Cheng Jinyu didn't need to think of being an ordinary person anymore.

“If you don’t move in, then there is this requirement.” Gu Bokai could already see it clearly. Cheng Jinyu did not want their relationship to be known.

Cheng Jinyu did not know what he was angry about. He was carefully thinking about if he was a fool or not. Those two people already had sincere love for each other, what was he worried about.
Since they are in sincere love, why did Gu Bokai still want to make their marriage public? Wasn't their marriage supposed to be a secret from Chen Yuze?
Cheng Jinyu’s brain was confused. He felt that his mind was an entire mess.
Gu Bokai continued, “I’m puzzled. Such a nice house that I’m letting you live in for free, what are you being unreasonable for? Is the place you're originally living in good? So good it’s making you this reluctant to leave?
Cheng Jinyu heard this and his heart cooled down.
Right now, when he goes home to live, he has a lot of interactions with his mother and Cheng Yan. Practically every night when he went home, Cheng Yan would chase after him begging him to help her find work. Although his mother didn't say anything, it was clear that she still hoped Cheng Jinyu would help out.

That family was no longer warm anymore. Having lived separately for ten years already, close contact with his family was very little. Living together again, it was unexpectedly very strange.

“You really insist on me living here?” Cheng Jinyu raised his eyebrow.

Gu Bokai interrupted, “Don’t say your conditions first, listen to my conditions first.”

“Don’t enter my room however you please; You’re not allowed to wear anything too revealing; not allowed to bring other people here; not allowed to have fantasies about me; not allowed to seduce me; not allowed to coerce me; not allowed to have thoughts with my pictures; not allowed to have dreams about me; not allowed to….”
Cheng Jinyu directly said, “That's enough, that's enough. You can be at ease. I definitely won't do any of the things you just said.”
“Good, to live here, you also have to cook.”
Cheng Jinyu was an expert at cooking. “Ok, I agree.” Besides, Cheng Jinyu felt more relieved living here after having something to do.
The two people finished their agreement, Gu Bokai said, “Let's go, I'll bring you upstairs to see the rooms.”
The two people went upstairs, Cheng Jinyu couldn’t help but ask him, “Are you really the boss behind Hisense?”
“Of course, what did you think?”
In a low voice, with his heart in his stomach he said, “Then the custom made outfits of Hisense project, are you going to give it to us?”
Gu Bokai narrowed his eyes as he walked, “Then I’ll have to see Young Master Cheng’s source material. If you want me to be satisfied, then I’ll just give this project to you. What Old Man Xin said to you doesn't count, what I say counts.”
“This project is Manager Wang’s, it's not mine.”
Gu Bokai replied, “If you want it, it can give it to you.”
“I’m not that greedy.”
“Then it will be better. I can have Mo Jiaxing deliberately praise you. They will understand your role in this project. Wang Ke is a smart person, it’s not possible that he won't know what he should do.”
Cheng Jinyu asked, “Will it succeed?”
“I will need to see your performance. Come here, properly curry favor with me.” Gu Bokai acted like he was teasing a dog as he beckoned Cheng Jinyu with his finger.

Jade: So the word "Subdue" that I've been using is the word 克. Its not just talking about physically subduing but can also mean mentally/emotionally overbearing. So for this novel, GBK's three wives all died previously because they couldn't withstand his presence. I hope that makes sense.
