*5 hours later*

The plane landed at Starry Airport right on schedule at 2 PM in Country T’s time. (There was a one-hour time difference.) After they picked up their luggage, the two of them took a shuttle bus to their hotel. Half an hour later, Wu Tong checked in to the penthouse presidential suite with a panoramic view of the ocean at the Starry Island five-star hotel.

The presidential suite was over 100 square meters in size and contained a living room and bedroom. The spacious bed was covered with red roses and the floor-to-ceiling window that took up an entire wall provided a picturesque view of the ocean.

Qin Ge noticed Wu Tong standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window in a ponderous state. He hugged her from behind and softly asked, “Do you like it?”

Wu Tong’s eyes glittered with joy. “I like it.”

Qin Ge’s voice tickled Wu Tong’s ear as he said, “I’m glad you like it. After all, this is basically our… bridal chamber.”

“I-I know.” Wu Tong clenched her teeth as she responded in a voice as low as a fly.

It was now Qin Ge’s turn to be surprised. The reason why he kept teasing Wu Tong was because of how shy and reserved she was. Does her sudden positive response mean that…? Well, I just need to wait a few more hours.

“Let’s go get some food, then take a walk by the seaside,” Qin Ge said. “We’ll be going shopping somewhere else tomorrow.”

What else is worth visiting on this island besides the ocean?

Although Wu Tong found it odd, she didn’t question him since they had already agreed that Qin Ge would be in charge of the itinerary. Plus, the mystery of it all would be a novel experience.

After eating lunch, the two of them took a stroll on the beach. Wu Tong held her shoes in one hand as she stepped into the ocean waves lapping up on the shore. Sometimes, the waves were too strong and caused her to lose her balance. When this happened, Qin Ge would reach out an arm and hold her steady. Wu Tong would awkwardly smile back at him in response.

“Do you want to play in the ocean?” Qin Ge asked while looking at the various watercrafts bobbing in the ocean.

Wu Tong shook her head. “I can’t swim but you can go on ahead.”

“Nevermind, then.” Although Qin Ge wanted to play in the ocean, he didn’t want to leave Wu Tong behind.

“Go on, I’ll hold your clothes for you.” Even though she didn’t know how to swim and, thus, was unable to play in the ocean, Wu Tong still wanted Qin Ge to have fun.

Qin Ge raised an eyebrow, then glanced at the surfboard rental shop nearby. He took off his shirt and plopped it over Wu Tong’s face.

Wu Tong frantically took off the shirt and held it in her arms. When she looked up, she saw Qin Ge’s bronze-colored pecs. His entire physique looked like a work of art that had been chiseled by a sculptor. But the mottled scars on his body were evidence of everything Qin Ge had endured.

“If you like what you see, feel free to touch me all over tonight,” Qin Ge joked.

It was only then that she noticed she was touching the scars on his chest. As if she had been burned, Wu Tong instantly retracted her hand.

Upset that Wu Tong was acting like nothing had happened, he shook his head and turned around to go rent a surfboard. After renting the surfboard, he carried it on his shoulders and walked past a bunch of squealing girls before leisurely striding into the ocean.

Wu Tong’s eyes didn’t follow Qin Ge for very long because his figure quickly disappeared amid the ocean waves. However, Wu Tong couldn’t get the image of the scars covering Qin Ge’s chest out of her mind. Wu Tong had only been able to catch a glimpse of the scars but she was able to make out 4 or 5 scars that appeared to be from gunshot wounds.

This was the first time Wu Tong truly realized her husband had really been a soldier; one who had put his life on the line to protect his country and his compatriots.
