Wu Tong wore a white dress and had her hair up in a half-bun. She welcomed the warm sunshine as she held onto a simple suitcase and waited for Qin Ge’s Jeep to arrive. Though she was feeling both nervous and apprehensive, she also felt a trace of anticipation.

Qin Ge pulled up in front of Wu Tong and observed her for a moment before taking off his tinted sunglasses. He smirked as he said, “Even though it’s hip to wear sunglasses, I can’t take a good look at my wife with it on.”

“...” I must’ve gone blind when I thought he looked handsome for a second there.

“How do I look today?” Qin Ge asked.

Wu Tong looked him up and down before saying, “Passible.”

Qin Ge casually tucked his sunglasses on the collar of his shirt and got out of his Jeep. He strode toward Wu Tong and stopped in front of her, then tucked away a loose strand of her hair as he flirtatiously said, “Honey, this is the first time you complimented me.”

How was that a compliment?

He was leaning in so close that it made her blush. “Let’s… go. We have a plane to catch.”

Qin Ge laughed out loud and said, “Gimme a kiss first.” He cupped Wu Tong’s face and kissed her.

The kiss didn’t last very long. Qin Ge lingered for 2 seconds before releasing Wu Tong. He seemed to have sensed that something felt off. Surprised, he remarked, “Honey, you’ve become more cooperative lately. You’re not as aloof as before.”

Wu Tong huffily pushed him away. “Let go of me.”

Qin Ge let out a hearty laugh as he picked up her luggage and put them in his car.

Qin Ge opened the front passenger side car door for her. “Get in.”

Wu Tong was still a little angry, so she coldly walked past him and slid into the car.

Qin Ge was unaffected by this and shrugged his shoulders. He started his car and drove to the airport. Along the way, Qin Ge handed back Wu Tong’s passport along with her plane ticket.

Since Qin Ge was the one who made the itinerary, Wu Tong had given him her passport early on. Aside from informing her that their flight was at 10 AM, Qin Ge didn’t tell her anything else, so she had no idea what was in store for her.

Wu Tong glanced at the destination on the plane ticket. Country T’s Starry Island. Wu Tong was pleasantly surprised as she commented, “I never thought we would be going here.”

“Do you like it?” Qin Ge asked.

”It’s a beautiful island. It’s also a popular vacation spot for couples.”

Qin Ge couldn’t resist asking, “Have you been there before?”

“No, but I’ve seen photos of it. The photos look amazing.” Wu Tong had longed to go there but had no one to accompany her.

“I’m happy that you like this place as well. Even if… what we like about it might not be the same.” As Qin Ge said this, he subconsciously sped up, almost as if he couldn’t wait to get there as soon as possible.

It would take 5 hours to get to Country T from the Imperial Capital. The first-class cabin was spacious and comfortable. After ordering a glass of beer, Qin Ge turned to Wu Tong and asked, “Do you wanna take a nap?”

Wu Tong, who had been reading a magazine, looked up and replied, “I’ve only been up for a few hours, so I’m not tired right now.”

Qin Ge took a sip of beer before casually saying, “I’m just worried you won’t have time to sleep at night.”

Wu Tong tightened her grip on the magazine. It was time. She had been mentally preparing herself for this day for over a month.

Seeing his wife freeze up, Qin Ge couldn’t help scoffing, “What? Scared?”

“I’m…” Wu Tong felt like a mouse being toyed by a cat. The mouse had already been told that she was going to get eaten, but the vile cat kept reminding the mouse of this fact over and over again.

“I’m going to sleep.” Wu Tong didn’t bother with him any longer and put on a sleep mask.

Qin Ge thought she looked really cute trying to ignore him and couldn’t resist laughing for two minutes straight. He asked a flight attendant for a blanket, then slowly lowered Wu Tong’s seat so she could sleep more comfortably.

The flight attendant returned with a blanket. Qin Ge took it and covered Wu Tong with it. Wu Tong sensed everything Qin Ge had done for her and was touched. She couldn’t help quietly thanking him when he leaned in close to her.

“No need.” Qin Ge jokingly said into her ear, “Just make sure to take a little more initiative tonight.”

Annoyed, Wu Tong snatched the blanket away and turned her back on Qin Ge. She was determined not to say another word to him while they were still on the plane. But for some reason, her heart was beating rapidly.

Wu Tong had the disposition of a typical Chinese person. She was introverted and shy. Even though deep down in her heart, she was already used to Qin Ge’s flirtatious behavior, she was still unable to handle his teasing.

Qin Ge smiled and slowly straightened up as he looked at the blue sky beyond the window. Memories he hadn’t thought about in a long time started to resurface again.

The sky was also this clear that day. We were on lunch break after our daily drill. We were laughing and joking around as we talked about our futures and our family.

Do you guys still remember the honeymoon plans we made for each other?

Even though none of you will ever be able to go…
