Chapter 7.2 - Wu Tong and Qin Ge Meet Up (2)

*The Next Day*
Since she was going to meet up with her fiancé, Wu Tong decided to dress up a bit. She went with a simple makeup look and did her hair up in a half bun, which made her look much younger.
At 9:50 AM, Wu Tong arrived at the main entrance to the Rainbow Plaza. Just as she was about to enter, she suddenly heard a sharp female voice cry out, shouting that someone was trying to snatch her bag.
Wu Tong subconsciously turned around and followed the source of the voice. She saw a man on a motorcycle with a lady’s crossbody bag in his hand, racing toward her from a short distance away. Although Wu Tong was standing behind the median strip[1], she still couldn’t help but subconsciously take a step back.

She watched as the thief fled the scene under the watchful eyes of the public. Suddenly, a black shadow crossed the median strip and stood about 2 meters in front of the motorcycle. He lifted a leg and gave a swift kick.
The man’s leg made contact. There was a loud noise as the motorcycle toppled over along with the thief, who rolled onto the ground. The man walked over and stepped on the thief, who was screeching in pain. The man squatted down and tore off the thief’s safety helmet. “I particularly like running into people like you these days. Beating someone up is much more exhilarating than hitting punching bags,” he said, with contempt.
Soon after, the lady who had her bag stolen finally caught up to them. After picking up her bag, she repeatedly thanked the man. Seeing that the plaza security guards had already rushed over and restrained the thief, the man turned around, ignoring the sounds of applause resounding around him. He was planning on entering the shopping mall when he saw Wu Tong standing amidst the crowd of bystanders.
Wu Tong blinked before smiling at him.
Since the shopping mall just opened for business, there were very few people inside the coffee shop. Wu Tong and Qin Ge chose a relatively secluded area to sit down at. After waiting for the waiter to bring over a cup of coffee and a glass of water, they started to feel awkward around each other.
“Did I scare you just now?” asked Qin Ge.
“Huh?” Wu Tong gripped her cup of coffee and took a sip from it before answering, “You didn’t scare me. I was just surprised by how skilled you are.”
Qin Ge was confused. “Did Doctor Li not tell you that I was once in the special forces?”
“She did, but seeing it with my own eyes is different from hearing about it from someone else.” Wu Tong noticed that Qin Ge had ordered a glass of water, so she decided to start off the conversation on a lighter note. “You don’t like drinking coffee?”
Qin Ge glanced at the glass of water in his hand and smiled at Wu Tong, as he explained, “It’s not that I don’t like it, it’s just that I shouldn’t drink it. After all, I’m pretty short-tempered and caffeine is very energizing.”
“...” Why is this guy incessantly reminding me about the fact that he has a mental illness?
Qin Ge was in a good mood as he took a sip of water. “But don’t worry, I let off some steam back there and I’m feeling pretty good right now, so I’m not gonna suddenly turn hostile on you.”
“...” Wu Tong felt somewhat unsettled. She lifted her head and asked, “Are you… trying to scare me?”
“Did I scare you?” Qin Ge responded without denying anything. He only laughed in an infuriating[2] way.
[2] Infuriating as in "deserving of a good spanking" lul (Not that she wants to spank him oop)
“Eldest young master Qin, my second uncle has already signed a contract with the Qin family, so our marriage of convenience is going to happen no matter what. I don’t understand why you’re doing this.” Wu Tong hesitantly asked, “Why are you… trying to scare me? Are you trying to make me break off the engagement?”
“Of course not.” Qin Ge shook his head and explained, “It’s quite the opposite, actually. It’s exactly because we're going to marry that I want to tell you all this. I already gave you a chance to break off the engagement when I told you to visit Doctor Li. Since you’re still willing to marry me despite knowing everything about my mental illness, then you must accept every part of me.”
They stared at each other for a moment before Wu Tong responded, “I understand.”
Qin Ge seemed to be satisfied with Wu Tong’s response. He visibly relaxed, revealing a faint smile as he traced the rim of the cup with his fingers.
“Then… can I ask you a question?” Wu Tong suddenly inquired.
“Ask away.”
“When you’re irritated… do you start hitting people?” Wu Tong carefully probed.
“Are you worried about domestic abuse?” Qin Ge laughed in a joking manner. “If I were to say that I do start hitting people when I get irritated… are you gonna break off the engagement?”
Wu Tong’s complexion turned slightly pale, but she shook her head. “No, I won’t.”
Qin Ge laughed out loud. “Sure enough, the power of money is beyond one’s imagination.”
Wu Tong didn’t want to explain her situation to Qin Ge. This was a personal choice, so no matter what, she had to try her best and continue moving forward.
“Have you ever dated before?”
