Chapter 5.3 - The Family Meeting (3)

The entire Qin family watched as Qin Ge took the initiative to send Wu Tong home. Mrs. Qin was emotional to the point where her eyes were slightly reddened. She grabbed her husband’s hand, exclaiming, “Look! Look! I told you setting up blind dates for Qin Ge was a good thing! Look at how he even did something as high EQ as sending a girl home!”
Mr. Qin still couldn’t believe what had just happened. “Qin Huai, you told him to do that, didn’t you?”
“I didn’t.” Qin Huai shook his head. He was just as shocked as his father. “Perhaps da ge really likes Miss Wu.”
“He definitely likes her,” Mrs. Qin said with excitement. “After they get married and become a family, all of the lingering aftereffects of Qin Ge’s PTSD will disappear for sure.”
“I hope so…” Mr. Qin was still a little concerned. “I just don’t know if Miss Wu will be able to get along with Qin Ge.”
“Yeah…” Mrs. Qin also started to get a little worried. “She seems like an outstanding child.”
“Dad, Mom, you shouldn’t worry about any of this,” Qin Huai reassured. “Don’t forget, this is just a marriage of convenience.”
Mr. and Mrs. Qin stared at their astute second son. They understood what he was trying to say. Although they couldn’t bear it, at the end of the day, the human heart is biased.
When Qin Ge returned, he saw his younger brother all alone in the courtyard again, sipping wine and admiring the moon.
“If you have something to say to me, you could’ve just called. You don’t need to sit here every time, sipping on a glass of wine.” Qin Ge chuckled as he sat down, pouring himself a glass of wine.
Qin Huai got straight to the point. “Da ge, what did you talk about with Miss Wu?”
“Do you have to be so sensitive?[1] Could it be that you like her?” Qin Ge teased with a smile.
[1] "Sensitive" as in nosy. Except "nosy" sounds too negative, so I kept it as close to the original word as possible when I translated.
“Da ge!” Qin Huai didn’t appreciate the joke.
“Alright, already. I was just messing with you. You’re too sensitive.” Qin Ge wasn’t planning on hiding anything, so he bluntly told Qin Huai: “I gave Doctor Li’s business card to her.”
“Da ge, you’re…”
“If she really wants to marry me, she’ll know this sooner or later.” Qin Ge swirled the glass of wine. After sipping the last drop of red wine, he said, “You should drink less of this. I’m going to check on Fei Fei first.”
Qin Huai waited for his brother to enter the house. After pondering for a bit, he took out his phone and called his personal assistant, Lin Wei. “Go to the Wu family tomorrow… and give them another warning.”
“Understood, President Qin.”
Qin Huai was a successful businessman, but he didn’t believe that money could buy everything. It’s just that humans are often driven by many things, to the point of no return.
What he wanted to do was ensure that after using his bargaining chip, it wouldn’t be easy for the other party to go back on their word. Arrangements like the marriage alliance were usually the most stable.

After pondering for an entire night, Wu Tong stood at the entrance to the Lan Hai Psychiatric Therapist’s Office early the next morning.
Meanwhile, Personal Assistant Lin was sitting down in the Wu family’s conference room, along with the Qin family’s legal advisor.
Wu Tong’s second uncle looked over the contract that the legal advisor handed to him, especially the additional clause:
During the period of cooperation between the Qin and Wu family, Miss Wu Tong has no right to get a divorce. If she insists on getting a divorce, or does anything to damage the marital relationship, the Qin family will immediately withdraw their funds. In addition, the Qin family has the right to request the Wu family to compensate for all the economic losses.
Wewww this chapter really took awhile to translate. ; v ; Hopefully everything is clear enough. I might continue to break up chapters into 3 parts in future. Hopefully that is ok for everyone ; v ; I decided to translate and upload the rest of this chapter as an apology for neglecting you guys last month Q v Q I sowwy.
